terrible terrible times
OK I'm really scared now - somehow nathan got a hold of my phone number! I'm seriously going to die. Why isn't there anybody else with my last name in the phone book?!
This is basically what was said:
Me: "Hello?"
Nathan: "Hi Kayla it's me nathan!!!"
Me: "Um....hi..."
Nathan: "Hi so what's up?"
Me: "Not much."
Nathan: "So what are you doing?"
Me: "Not much."
Nathan: "I hope I didn't interrupt anything important."
Me: "Ah...not really...I have to leave in a few minutes, we're going out to eat for lunch (<-lie)..."
Nathan: "Oh, that's great! Yeah, so what did you get your mother for mother's day?"
Me: "I...painted her a picture..."
Nathan: "Oh wow I bet she'll love it, I bet it's soo pretty."
Me: "Uh...Thanks..."
Nathan: "I got my mom this bar of soap from france - at least it says it's from france - and i got her this ceramic statue of three frogs holding hands, and i got her these gourd birdhouses - they're made of gourds."
Me: "Uh-huh."
Nathan: "Yeah, the birds we get around our house are so cute. They're all like 'chirp-chirp' and stuff."
Me: "That's great."
Nathan: "Oh yeah...uhh..."
Me: "?"
Nathan: "Would it help you make my manga if I drew thr roguh drafts for you first?"
Me: "Uh...yeah..."
Nathan: "OK, cuz I can do that."
Me: "Um...yeah, but I already have a lot of stuff lined up with Rachel (my friend who's doing Thaila's Tale with me) so I won't have any time for a long time..."
Nathan: "Oh, that's OK, I'll give it to you after you're finished with that." (...we won't ever *be* finished...rachel will come up with another story by the time I start on the next one...)
Me: "Um, great, I guess."
Nathan: "Oh yeah, and I wanted to wish you a happy mother's day."
Me: "?!?!"
Nathan: "I mean not like you're a mother...just...to have a good one!"
Me: "Oh, right..."
Nathan: "Anyway, bye."
T_T god dammit - i can't escape - i can't get out of this - there's gotta be a way to get this guy away from me without being mean or rude. argh...I'm trying to get a hold of rachel but her phone just keeps ringing...i gotta tell her this...oh lord, someone help me...
